Our Story

Camellia and Conner founded Koxa after working together at a previous company. They immediately recruited Camellia’s former colleague and long-time friend Delano to join Koxa as a trusted advisor and board member (and to add that Ph.D. street cred).

The team initially set out to fix US treasury open banking. But they found a major stumbling block: the market was somewhere in its evolution between non-existent and primitive. It didn’t need fixing – it needed to be built correctly the first time. So Koxa developed the first complete treasury open banking solution. We think you’ll like it.

Camellia George

Camellia George

Camellia co-founded Koxa with Conner in 2020 and serves as our CTO. Prior to Koxa, Camellia held a series of technical product leadership roles: most recently as Head of Product at Ninth Wave (where she and Conner met); Head of Mobile Product for Infor; and designing, developing and launching Venmo’s first B2B product – Venmo Checkout – as Venmo’s Head of Product (where she and Delano met).

Camellia is a recognized expert on privacy, security and user-permissioning of financial data. She serves as an Emeritus Member of the Financial Data Exchange (FDX), which is the consortium of financial institutions, fintechs, and other industry participants that is defining a standard for consumer-permissioned financial data sharing. Camellia is a principal author of FDX’s “User Experience Guidelines” for user consent (published December 2020) and a Taskforce Lead in the API & Data Structures technical working group.

Camellia earned a bachelors in design from Carnegie Mellon University and graduate degrees from California College of the Arts. She lives with her husband Alek and son Asa in Brooklyn, where there is MLB on one screen or another around the clock (even in the off-season).

Conner Mulvee

Conner Mulvee

Conner co-founded Koxa with Camellia in 2020 and serves as our CEO. He has been investing in B2B fintech and other enterprise software for 15 years, both as a private equity professional and an angel investor. During that time, he’s held multiple Board and management / operating roles, including assisting Paycom (NYSE:PAYC) through its successful IPO as a Board member; Board roles at Clearwater Analytics, LiiRN, and AIM Software (acquired by SimCorp); and serving as CFO and COO at Ninth Wave.

Conner played soccer at Amherst College and graduated with a BA in Economics. Conner lives with his wife Barbara in New York’s East Village, though his heart resides closer to a mountain wilderness (still with Barbara). Conner is a 7-time NOLS graduate, which has provided enough outdoor adventure to (at least for now) allow for day-to-day city life.

Dr. Delano J McFarlane

Dr. Delano J McFarlane

Dr. Delano J McFarlane joined Koxa as an advisor in 2020 and was appointed Koxa’s first independent board member in 2021. Delano has worked for many years in the software services and Internet industries, including roles at Microsoft, Oracle, and DoubleClick. He was an early employee at Venmo, where he worked in successive roles as a data scientist, engineering manager, and Head of Engineering.

Delano is currently focused on career and technical mentorship and advisory work for technologists and startups in the New York area, while also working on machine learning and data engineering research.

Delano received undergraduate and graduate degrees in computer science from MIT and was awarded a Ph.D. with distinction in Biomedical Informatics from Columbia University. Delano is a native New Yorker and now does his best to stay within a one-block radius of Central Park. His many deep interests outside of technology include science, travel, movies, music, and mystery or sci-fi podcasts.

Caroline Broder

Caroline Broder

Caroline is an investor at Crosslink Capital, an early-stage focused venture capital fund based in the Bay Area. Caroline joined Crosslink in 2018 and focuses on venture investments in enterprise software, financial technology, and logistics. Prior to Crosslink, Caroline worked in analytics at Lyft, supporting operational and strategic initiatives for the company’s fleet strategy. She previously worked in management consulting at The Parthenon Group and Parthenon-EY, focusing on private equity and corporate clients in the technology and diversified industrial sectors.

Caroline played soccer at Amherst College and graduated with a BA in Psychology. She lives in San Francisco, which provides easy access to all of the moderately risky activities she enjoys, including biking, skiing, and backpacking, or sometimes a creative combination of the three.
